At ORYGEN FILMS, we are convinced that a great audiovisual production is not just a matter of beautiful images. Above all it rests on a story, meticulous preparation and direction designed to serve a message.
Our latest shoot took us to New York, where we spent a week alongside Renaud de Tilly, founder of DE TILLY REAL ESTATE, producing a brand film to showcase his expertise to French-speaking clients looking to buy, sell, manage or invest in New York real estate.
New York, an exceptional setting in the service of the story
More than a destination, New York is a character in its own right.
To illustrate the expertise of DE TILLY REAL ESTATE, we chose to film in the most emblematic locations of Manhattan and Brooklyn: the Top of the Rock, Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, SoHo, 5th Avenue, along with several essential neighbourhoods that illustrate the diversity of the New York property market.

Each location was carefully chosen to support the narrative and reflect the city's singular energy. The aim was not simply to show New York, but to tell a story through its most iconic places.
A film in its founder's image
Renaud de Tilly does not limit himself to guiding clients through a property transaction. His approach covers the full range of needs of a French-speaking clientele: buying, selling, rental management, investment and personalised support.
So we designed a film faithful to his personality: dynamic, well paced, comprehensive and approachable.
Each sequence illustrates one facet of his profession and conveys his excellent knowledge of the ground, while highlighting the architectural richness and appeal of New York.
Immersive direction through the choice of handheld camera
From the very first preparation meetings, we made a strong directorial choice: to shoot the entire film handheld.
That decision answered a simple ambition: to let the viewer experience New York as if they were there.
Rather than multiplying perfectly stabilised moves or highly “advertising” shots, we favoured direction that felt alive, fluid and natural. The approach gives the impression of accompanying Renaud de Tilly through his day, walking the streets of Manhattan or Brooklyn beside him and discovering the city through his eyes.
Letting the viewer experience New York as if they were there.
That immersion considerably strengthens the film's authenticity. It conveys the rhythm of New York, its constant energy and the closeness that characterises the relationship of trust DE TILLY REAL ESTATE maintains with its clients.
Behind a successful shoot, exemplary preparation
If this shoot looks so fluid on screen, it is because it was the subject of particularly rigorous preparation.
The script was written in advance in order to build a coherent narrative, able to present the full range of DE TILLY REAL ESTATE's expertise while showcasing the city of New York.
But the real key to success was Renaud de Tilly's thorough knowledge of the city.

Knowing exactly which neighbourhood to film, at what hour the light would be best, how to optimise travel between Manhattan and Brooklyn, and how to avoid the busiest areas made it possible to make the most of every shooting day.
In a city as dense as New York, that preparation is a decisive advantage.
An audiovisual production is above all a matter of coordination
At ORYGEN FILMS, we know that a large-scale shoot leaves very little room for improvisation.
Every project rests on a proven methodology:
- understanding the client's objectives;
- writing a relevant script;
- meticulous logistical preparation;
- coordinating the teams;
- anticipating technical constraints;
- the ability to adapt on the ground.
It is this organisation that then allows the teams to focus fully on creativity and to produce powerful images.
An experience that illustrates our view of the craft
For nearly ten years, ORYGEN FILMS has supported executive boards, communications and marketing departments in producing corporate films, interviews, event coverage, presentation videos, social media content and audiovisual productions in France and internationally.
This New York shoot illustrates our philosophy perfectly.
The finest productions are never the result of chance. They are the outcome of demanding preparation, flawless coordination, a thorough knowledge of the ground and direction designed to immerse the viewer at the heart of the story.
Because beyond the images, it is always emotion, authenticity and the quality of the story that give a film its full value.
